We chose this villa due to the facilities for disabled travellers and it worked well for someone in a wheelchair. The ground floor is level with a roll in shower. The property is spacious with plenty of room to manoeuvre equipment. I struggled pushing the wheelchair over the gravel to take my husband to the pool - a flat path to the pool would be useful. The area is beautiful and the views from the pool are lovely.

The complex is well situated being relatively close to Azay-le-Rideau centre, and is useful as a base for sightseeing and cycling trips. The complex is clean and tidy and the reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Laundry pickup and return was very easy. The complex had reasonable Internet connection for an additional cost.
The property was clean but very small inside. The house can theoretically accommodate 6 people but we found it cramped with just 2 of us. In my opinion, 2 adults and 2 children would definitely be the maximum. The kitchen area cannot cope with more that one person at a time, and it was difficult to get in and out of bed as the beds were so close to the walls. The settee wasn’t particularly comfortable as it was a sofa bed.
Whilst we were there, the weather was extremely hot, but the house did not have air conditioning or electric fans. We found that we had to leave the windows open to get any ventilation, something that we would never do if we had young children with us (in that case, you’d just have to swelter). Another unpleasant thing were the ants which entered the house, not only under the front door, but also seemingly through the walls.
There was sufficient cutlery, plates, cups, etc, except for the lack of a tin opener. Thankfully we took some cleaning equipment (j-cloths, washing up liquid, soap) as there was nothing there. The accommodation was generally quite ‘tired’.
The tennis court looked decent but, as we didn’t play, I cannot give first hand experience. The swimming pool was good to cool off in during the hot weather, but as the pool was kidney shaped, it was difficult to swim properly when more than a couple of people were in. It appeared that the pool was intended to be a spa pool as it had vents but these were never on.
A stunning location. An amazing view. A lovely pool. Isolated, yet close to amenities. This is a delightful, rustic, family villa. The key word is "rustic". As one of my daughters commented, it's a bit like staying at Granny's - charming but everything's a bit past its sell by date. We liked the aged simplicity but it might not be to everyone's taste, and trying to cook for more than 6 adults is a struggle. This is definitely not a villa for 12. The kitchen and cooker is just too small and while the kitchen is well stocked, not everything works as it should. The ground crew were great, replacing things promptly when asked and always with a smile. There's a campsite immediately below the villa on the lake, which in the summer has fairly regular parties. It didn't bother us particularly but just to be aware they did sometimes go on into the early hours. We'd go back because of the location, the convivial side terrace and pool, but we'd stick to 4/6 adults for most of the time.
Très agréable location bien équipée, calme, avec une bonne literie et une terrasse sans vis à vis.
