Our multi-generational family had a great time in Engelberg in September. Going to the top of the Titlus was the highlight of our entire trip to Switzerland. There is a beautiful lake at the first stop, which had I known it was so accessible, I would have packed a picnic lunch and spent the day there. A few other things that would have improved our stay is that we didn't know that the chalet was so far from the town. It is a two mile trek up steep switchbacks. My 80+ year old parents could not walk it, so I had to drive them to town whenever they needed something. Also, if you turn the shower on all the way, the water shoots out all over the bathroom. We learned to turn it just part way on to avoid this. It was very warm while we were there and we didn't know that the skylights in the loft open until half way through our stay. The property manager was happy to open them for us once we asked which made sleeping up there much more comfortable. Otherwise, it was a fabulous place to stay! Fully stocked and everything you need. We found the price was quite reasonable. The view from the deck is breathtaking! I highly recommend staying at this gorgeous chalet.
Good overall: nice pool and yard, quiet.
Only some little things to improve: tiny shower, beds and fridge are a little unstable, no mosquito nets, no English speaking
Villa and agent were excellent.We would have been grateful to receive forewarning of mosquitoes and horse flies in the vicinity so we would have been prepared.Next time we will come prepared.
