San Giovanni Valdarno is an excellent location from which to explore the culture and scenery of the middle 1/3 of Italy. While we used our leased car for our excursions, there is excellent rail service at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed many walks, directly from our apartment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our relationships with the Mugnai family during our entire 2-month stay; they were pleasant and helpful.
The apartment is spacious, well-maintained and provides easy access to the outside. It is very accommodating for persons with mobility challenges. On the downside, since it is also designed to minimize oppressive summer heat, we found the floor cold. To ameliorate this, we suggested that the owner make available some mats for winter use. Although we cooked most of our meals in the small kitchen, we recommended that the owner install a microwave oven. What a wonderful one week stay in the Mugnai Home. Tho the apt is 20 miles from Florence, it was easy to walk to the train station, buy a ticket and see the countryside into Florence SMN station, and then spend the day touring. A car can be rented in the town just north of San Giovanni instead of renting in the Florence traffic hassle. Mario and his family made our stay so much more than we dreamed. They went out of their way to accomodate us time and again. We were very pleased with our choice in the small town of San Giovanni.

In questa vacanza noi ci siamo trovati ne piu' ne meno che a casa nostra. La bellezza e la tranquillita' del posto, il bellissimo appartamento in cui siamo stati per una settimana e sopratutto, e voglio sottolineare questo, la cordialita, famigliarita e la disponibilita' dei proprietari, come se ci fossimo conosciuti da sempre.

We had a very pleasant stay in this great house. It was a very clean and big place, The owner was very helpfull and thoughtfull. We can highly reccommend this place, it's ideal to make daytrips to all the fantastic places that Tuscany has to offer.

I can highly reccomend the property! Mugnai Home is located in a small village but outside the centrum,15 min walking distance, so you can relax in quiet. It is perfect location for a sigtseeing! 30km to Firenze and 15 min by car to the heart of Chianti area like Radda or Giaole! The owners are very friendy and helpful,have many informaction about the Tuscany. House is big enough for 5 person also have small garden. If you are planning to visit Tuscany and sightseeing this property is perfect. And in the village you can find a swimming pool called Las Vegas.
