Antico podere di contadini che sorge nella Valdorcia, lungo la strada che da Pienza porta a Bagno Vignoni. Nel Medioevo l'importanza della Valdorcia fu legata principalmente a quella della Via Francigena, principale strada di comunicazione europea, che l'attraversava longitudinalmente in tutta la sua lunghezza. Si ritiene che questo casale sia nato come una sorta di punto di ristoro adiacente al Castello di Spedaletto, antica fortificazione un tempo utilizzata come luogo di accoglienza per viandanti. A 4 km si trova il borgo di BAGNO VIGNONI, rinomato per le sue strutture termali e dove si trovano ristoranti e negozi di prodotti tipici; a circa 10 km si trovano da un lato Pienza e dall'altro San Quirico d'Orcia, caratteristici paesi dove si trovano negozi e servizi di ogni genere. La proprietà è composta da due piccoli casali, dove si trovano i 3 appartamenti, adiacenti al casale principale dove abitano i proprietari. A disposizione degli ospiti la bella piscina (dim. 6x12 m. - profondità 1,10 - 1,60 m.) le biciclette e le amache per potersi concedere un completo relax. Gli appartamenti sono dotati di tv satellitare, aria condizionata, connessione internet wi-fi e di un locale lavanderia con lavatrice e ferro da stiro da utilizzare in comune. Su richiesta la proprietaria può preparare la colazione.

The appartment itself and the location in Orcia valley are excelent. What did not satisfyus, was the fact that by 20th of May the pool was still out of order. Also internet was weak. Rest is great, host is very friendly, it's clean, lot of things in the appartment are pretty new or at least in good condition. Just dishes can be partially renewed/replaced, but acceptable.
[counter comment from the owners] The owners are very sorry for these disruptions, the weather was very bad, it was very cold (in fact, the guests have asked for some wood) and with the continuous rains it was not possible to open the pool earlier.

Sehr schön gelegene und liebevoll betreute Ferienwohnung im Herzen der südlichen Toskana am Oberlauf des Orciatales, guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge und Besichtigungen. Die Ferienwohnung hat eine gute Ausstattung, ist sehr gepflegt und hat einen wunderschönen Swimmingpool. Zur Begrüßung stand sogar ein toller Obstkorb für uns auf dem Tisch. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder. Nochmals vielen Dank an die Besitzerin und gute Seele der Casali dell Osteria Maria.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Very beautiful and lovingly cared apartment in the heart of southern Tuscany on the upper reaches of the Val d'Orcia, good starting point for excursions and sightseeing. The apartment has good facilities, is well maintained and has a beautiful swimming pool. On our arrival there was a great fruit basket for us on the table. Cet "agriturismo" est particulièrement bien situé pour visiter le Val d'Orcia. Depuis la propriété on a une vue magnifique sur les "crete sienese". L'endroit est calme, bien entretenu et l'accueil simple et chaleureux.
